Mother's Day is all about celebrating an important woman in your life! This activity can be done right at home using materials you may have in your recycle bin.
Materials
- Old magazines, newspapers, or books
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Cardboard rectangle or square
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
Directions - Toddlers
Step 1
Ask your child about things they think the special woman in their life like or that they think are special.
Step 2
Ask your child to find pictures of these things in a magazine, newspaper, or book.
Step 3
Cut these images out or help your toddler cut these images out.
Step 4
Glue these images onto the top of the ice cream cone template (provided below) or an ice cream cone you drew yourself! Don't forget to color the ice cream cone!
Step 5
Glue your ice cream cone to the piece of cardboard and write a special message!
Directions - Preschoolers and Up
Step 1
Ask your child what words describe the special woman in their life.
Step 2
Ask them to find those words in a magazine, newspaper, or book and cut them out.
Step 3
Glue the words onto the top of the ice cream cone template (provided below) or on and ice cream cone you drew yourself! Don't forget to color the ice cream cone!
Step 4
Glue your ice cream cone to the piece of cardboard and write a special message!
